Responding to Fake Reviews

As the majority of our clients find us through web search, it is crucial to respond to reviews, both positive and negative, in a timely manner. Doing so demonstrates respect and attention to detail, ultimately enhancing your center's reputation. Below are some suggested steps to take if you suspect a fake reviews or receive a negative review calling you a fake clinic. Keep in mind that your responses won't just be read by the person submitting the review but by all those who choose to look at your center's reviews, so be wise and keep it professional.

STEP 1: Respond to the Review

Our center is a privately run, limited medical clinic staffed by RN, RDMS and overseen by a reputable OBGYN. We present our medical and non-medical services factually and accurately in all of our communications and advertising. Our center offers free medical services including pregnancy confirmation and ultrasound. In addition we provide neutral information to women who are in the decision making process or are looking for resources. Our hope is to offer women and their partners a safe place to process their complex emotions about their pregnancy decision. We do not gain from their decision as all of our services are offered free of charge. Our organization is committed to walking with them afterward regardless if they choose to carry or terminate their pregnancy. If you have been misinformed or have visited the center and would like to discuss the services you have received, our Executive Director would be more than happy to discuss your concerns so that they may be properly addressed.

STEP 2: Report the Review to Google or Yelp if the client has not visited or contacted your clinic or you can see that they left other negative reviews for pregnancy centers.

On Google choose

  • Discrimination or Hate Speech: Review has harmful language about an individual or group based on identity

  • Off topic Review: doesn’t pertain to an experience at or with this business

On Yelp choose

  • It doesn't describe personal consumer experience

  • It represents extraordinary circumstance (media fueled)

Comment on Report

"This person disagrees with our faith and or political stance which has recently been falsely portrayed in the media. They are not associated with our business, never received services from us and live outside of our service area. Since they are using the scripting known to be part of a discriminatory smear campaign, I am asking that the review be removed from my page immediately."

STEP 3: Account Update

Be sure that your Google & Yelp business accounts are owned/claimed by the correct person. If not, anyone can claim them and do what they will with your page. Make sure your pages are updated with accurate information on services, modern photos of your center, correct hours and updated contact information.
